Our Story
In early 2000, Franck Jacobs discovered a promising deposit in the heart of Namibia named “The De Rust Mine”. With the rising global demand for sustainable energy solutions, this deposit represents a unique opportunity to contribute to the future of clean energy. Since then, his business partner Jean-Michel Gerome and his daughter Stephanie F Jacobs has been dedicated to developing an ethical and sustainable mining operation to responsibly harness this vital resource.
Dauremas Mineral Development (DMD), then established in 2013, as a mineral exploration and mining company.
In 2013, DMD was granted exclusive prospecting licenses for areas in Erongo, Khorixas, and Omaruru.
In 2015, DMD conducted drilling operations near the Brandberg area to assess the quality of dimension stone. During this exploration, deposits of tantalum, niobium, lithium, and mica were discovered.
Initial ore analyses were conducted using an X-ray analyzer in DMD’s laboratory in Windhoek, followed by advanced testing by Intertek in Australia.
In 2021, DMD Secured Mining License ML198.
Today, DMD is actively preparing for the production of lithium, tin, tantalum, and niobium ores. We have adopted state-of-the-art mining technologies and established comprehensive logistics networks to ensure efficient, sustainable operations.

Our Vision
Our vision is to create a sustainable and ethical mining operation that not only meets the world’s growing demand for lithium but also ensures minimal environmental impact and maximum community benefits.
Our Commitment
With a mining license and an approved environmental impact assessment, we are fully equipped to begin operations in a manner that aligns with global best practices for environmental stewardship and community engagement.
DMD is deeply committed to environmental stewardship and social responsibility. We adhere to stringent environmental and social governance standards and engage with local communities through education, skills development, and healthcare initiatives.
Our Location
The De Rust project is strategically located in Namibia’s Kunene Region, within the Khorixas District, providing advantageous proximity to key locations. Positioned roughly 300 km northwest of Windhoek, Namibia’s capital, and 270 km from Walvis Bay, the nation’s primary port, the project enjoys logistical convenience.
Additionally, it is situated about 60 km northwest of Uis, a historical mining town known for its rich mineral history, further highlighting the potential mineral exploration significance of the De Rust area.
